Kicking Off the Semester: Our Case Workshop with Tryg

What a way to kick off the semester!

Our first event of the year was a case workshop with our partner Tryg, held on 27 October at Copenhagen Business School at Solbjerg Plads. For the new IBCC team, it was the first real test of everything we had been preparing since recruitment: our first event together, and the start of the road towards IBCC 2027.

It was a first for many of our participants too. The workshop brought together 35 International Business students, most of them in their first year, and for many it was their very first encounter with case solving.

From first principles to a real case
Philip Juul Dalsgaard and Esben Vestergaard from Tryg opened the evening with an introduction to case solving: how to approach a problem, structure the analysis and build a clear recommendation. Participants then put it straight into practice, working in teams on a real business problem from Tryg before presenting their solutions to Philip and Esben and receiving direct feedback.

The engagement, creativity and curiosity in the room made the evening. A sincere thank you to Philip and Esben for an insightful workshop. We loved having you.

Fuelled by our sponsors
We are also grateful to Red Bull Danmark, Bold Drinks and Vita Yummy for keeping everyone fuelled throughout the evening and helping make it happen.

Dinner, drinks and darts
After the presentations, participants and partners came together for dinner and drinks. The evening then moved on to Alexandra Hus, where participants and the IBCC team rounded off the night with a few games of darts, a chance to get to know each other beyond the case.

Thank you to everyone who joined. You made our first event of the academic year one to remember.
