New Year, New Team: Meet the IBCC 2027 Board

A new academic year means a new IBCC team, and this year, preparations started earlier than ever.

Saying thank you
Before looking ahead, we want to thank the members who made IBCC 2026 possible. Many of our now third-year students have left for their exchange semesters. We are grateful for their commitment and wish them all the best abroad, and we look forward to staying connected through our growing IBCC alumni network. Others have said goodbye as they continue in the TREBLE programme, and we wish them every success.'

A record recruitment
With many places to fill, we opened recruitment early in the semester, and the response exceeded every expectation. We received a record number of applications, almost all of them from highly qualified and engaged first-year students. It was a difficult selection, and a strong sign of how much IBCC means to the IB community.

Meet IBCC 2026/27.

The leadership
This year’s board is led by second-year students who now enter their second IBCC cycle, bringing the experience of last year’s edition into the next one. Sebastian Skov Wacher takes on the role of President, with Huaibo Yang as Vice President. Alongside them, Florine Fischer leads Marketing, Liam Fujita heads Partner Relations, and Nikolaj R. Pedersen is responsible for Finance. Completing the leadership is Isabella Fredensborg, who joined IBCC over the summer as Head of Events.

The departments
Under Florine, our Marketing department brings together Sofie Koester (2nd year), Alexander K. B. Pietrangeli (1st year) and Katrine Holm (1st year), who shape how IBCC is seen, both on campus and beyond.

Partner Relations, led by Liam, is made up of Andreas Hopp (2nd year), Ofelia Nordvig Thomsen (1st year) and Alexander M. Sindberg (1st year), who build and maintain our relationships with the firms behind the competition.

In Finance, Nikolaj is joined by Rosa Kofoed Brunke (1st year) and Emil Hvidt-Karlsson (1st year), keeping IBCC on solid ground.

Our Events department, led by Isabella, consists of Hugo Eksandh (2nd year), Frida Kirkebjerg (2nd year), Smilla Eskildsen (2nd year), Monique Ekstrøm (1st year) and Matheis Tang Züger (1st year), who turn every workshop, launch and final into an experience worth remembering.

Looking ahead
Nineteen people, four departments, one goal: to make IBCC 2027 the best edition yet. We cannot wait to welcome you at our workshops, our events and, of course, the competition itself.
